Ex-U23 Star Ndifreke Effiong Joins Libyan Club Ahli Benghazi

Libyan club Al Ahli Benghazi have announced the signing of Ndifreke Effiong from Nigeria Professional Football League outfit Akwa United on a three-and-half-year contract, reports Completesports.com.

The former U-23 Eagles star scored 63 goals in eight NPFL seasons with Abia Warriors and Akwa United.

The versatile midfielder scored eight goals and provided five assists in 18 league appearances for Akwa United this season.

He is the first Nigerian on the books of the club.

Ahli Benghazi were in the same group with Enyimba in the CAF Confederation Cup thsi season.

    What is he doing in libya? I thought he should be heading to europe. Not even Egypt or Tunisia we know as good football nations. I think is sheer greed and over anxiousness to play outside Nigeria, considering the calibre of player he is.
