Exclusive: 2023 FIFA U-20 WC: Akpoborie Tasks Bosso To Invite Players On Merit

Former Super Eagles forward, Jonathan Akpoborie has warned the Flying Eagles coach, Ladan Bosso to invite players based on merit ahead of the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Recall that Nigeria has been pitted alongside Brazil, Italy and Dominican Republic in Group D.

In a chat with Completesports.com, the former Wolfsburg striker stated that Bosso’s invitation of players must be devoid of sentiment.

He also believed that the Flying Eagles have the capability to hold their own against some of the big teams at the tournament.

“The FIFA U-20 World Cup should afford Ladan Bosso the opportunity to correct the mistakes he made at the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, where the team finished third.

“His invitation and selection of players must be on point this time around if he must get a positive results against Brazil, Italy and Dominican Republic.”

On merit ke…this present flying eagles team is all about tribalism… expect nothing from them…dis is the first time the bulk of any Nigerian team comes from the northern part of the country in history..we all know that they don’t have the talents as far as football is concern.. maybe you can choose one or two players from there based on quota system..

Tell him o because he has collected bribes.

U-20 Africa Cup of Nations was terrible because we were lucky to qualify.

Welcome to Buhari era where only fulani’s and their close associates are qualified for all positions. Look at boso of a coach… He looks lost in the sideline. His players looks overage and uninspiring. You cannot win a competition of this magnitude without a good #9 and #10. They are bound to run out of lack.

They want to push them up at all cost.i mean the northern players.just wait after the tournament some of them will sign for clubs in Malta or second division in Poland.. some will end up in Kano pillers or gombe united..u can’t force a horse to drink water when you manage to take it to the stream..
