Former Nigerian striker, Jonathan Akpoborie believes the consistent goal scoring form of Super Eagles forward, Terem Moffi with Lorient in France, will create stiff competition for Victor Osimhen in the senior national team.
Moffi, who is expected to lead the Super Eagles attack in today’s international friendly game against Portugal, has netted 10 goals for Lorient in Ligue 1 this ongoing season.
However, in a chat with Completesports.com, the former Wolfsburg star stated that Moffi has what it takes to battle Osimhen for the number 9 starting shirt in the Super Eagles.

“I have watched Terem Moffi closely and I admire his hunger and determination to score goals.
“His style of play is quite different from other Super Eagles strikers and I believe he will be of great asset to the team. No doubt, he will give Osimhen a serious competition for the team’s number 9 shirt.”
“I expect him to take his chances playing against Portugal if he just remain in Jose Peseiro’s mind for a long time”
Moffi and his teammates will have to contend with watching from their homes when hostilities begin in Qatar this weekend.

Players like Moffi need to step up, albiet not as naturally gifted as Osimhen however if he keeps the hardwork up. It may shake Osimhen up because at the moment Osimhen feels irreplaceable we all know how he can become when he feels that way, Napoli saw it first hand last season and beefed up the attack with Simeone and Raspadori and since then Osimhen pulled his socks up the same needs to happen because for me Moffi could be on a the same level as Raspadori and Simeoni.
If Osimhen feels his place is under threat in Super Eagles he will think twice before chosing fixtures to play and, super eagles will only be better for it
…..and add Folarin Balogun to the pool of strikers for more options….
No he can’t. Stop fooling everybody. You know better.
Add Victor Boniface to creat stiff compitition in Super Eagles forward; I think if Moffi joined big club like PSG or Atletico Madrid , Borussia Dortmund, Lyon, Monaco , I would think he can be a quality attacker that any one can’t stop him.
