Former Nigerian international, Tijani Babangida has revealed that Sao Tome will only make the loudest noise but can’t cause any upset against the Super Eagles in Sunday’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Super Eagles cruised to an emphatic 10-0 victory when the sides squared off at the Stade Adrar in last year’s reverse fixture and will be aiming for a repeat of the same in front of their home supporters.
Having confirmed their spot in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on June 18 when they defeated Sierra Leone 3-2, Babangida in a chat with Completesports.com stated that Sao Tome can’t cause any upset against Nigeria.
“Yes, impossible is nothing in football. But then, I don’t think Sao Tome can cause any upset against the Super Eagles.

“The caliber of players in the team is capable of scoring goals and it will be difficult for Sao Tome to cope with the quality of strikers in our team.
“I expect a good game and I know the Super Eagles will win and win well on Sunday.”
The Super Eagles are one of 18 sides to have already booked their spot in Ivory Coast as they lead the way in Group A with a seven-point cushion over third-placed Sierra Leone heading into the final group game.
