Ezekiel, Osimhen Clash As Kortrijk, Charleroi Fight For Europa League Spot

The Nigerian duo of Imoh Ezekiel and Victor Osimhen will put friendship aside for 90 minutes when their clubs, Kortrijk and Sporting Charleroi respectively, meet in the the Belgian First Division A Europa League play-off 2 (PO2) final tonight (Wednesday), Completesports.com reports.

Ezekiel will welcome his compatriot at Kortrijk home ground, the Guldensporenstadion, hoping to help his side the play-off 2 (PO2) against Sporting Charleroi. The winner will clash with Royal Antwerp – the fifth placed team in the title play-off, for an Europa Cup ticket.

Osimhen who has been named Charleroi Player of The Season following his superlative showings for the club will be eager to add to the 16 goals and four assists he has in 32 league appearances this term.

The 20-year-old loanee from Wolfsburg is showing no sign of slowing down ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations and will be hoping to lead Charleroi into the Europa League Play-offs with his goals when they face Kortrijk at the Guldensporenstadion.

Osimhen was, however, an unused substitute in Charleroi’s 2-0 win over AS Eupen at the weekend, a result which guaranteed their place at the top of the Group A standings with 22 points from ten matches.

Ezekiel, on the other hand, appears to have rediscovered his form after scoring in his last two Belgian Pro League games, the last of which saw Kortrijk thrash Cercle Brugge 4-0 at the Guldensporenstadion last week Friday.

Nigeria international, Ezekiel, has netted three times and made an assist in 23 league outings for De Kerels this term with two of his goals helping Kortrijk to top Group B with 24 points from ten games.

  • Oshimen won the battle against Imoh Ezekiel today having scored 2 goals with Ezekiel scoring 1.

Why did Imoh Ezekiel go to Qatar in 2014? That really regressed his career badly.

I know he must have made a lot of money but must it be about money?

This guy is such a classy player it is so unreal that he is not part of the Super Eagles set up!

Centre forward, right or left wing, support striker, attacking midfielder, aerial prowess (for such a short bloke): this guy has got the lot.

    Oh well…..

    Imoh Ezekiel
