Manchester United beat bitter rivals Liverpool 4-3 after extra-time, in a dramatic FA Cup quarter-final fixture at Old Trafford on Sunday.
United have now knocked out Liverpool for the 11th time in the FA Cup, more than any other club.
It was a game Liverpool players would be kicking themselves as they missed numerous scoring chances to kill the game off.
United took the lead on 10 minutes through Scot McTominay who finished off from close range after the Liverpool keeper had kept out Alejandro Garnacho’s initial shot.
Liverpool equalised with one minute left in the first half as Alex Mac Allister made it 1-1.
Then in two minutes of first half added time Mohamed Salah put Liverpool 2-2 ahead.
The Reds dominated most part of the second half but failed to convert most the chances that they created.
They were made to pay for their missed chances as substitute Antony turned inside the box and slotted home.
In the final seconds of the second half Marcus Rashford had a golden chance to win it for United but put his effort just wide with the keeper to beat.
In the 105th minute of extra-time Liverpool went 3-2 up off the boot of Harvey Elliot whose low shot took a deflection before nestling inside the net.
United refused to accept defeat and were rewarded in 112 minutes thanks to Rashford.
Then in the second minute of the 120 minutes Amad Diallo scored the winner off a brilliant counter.
Unfortunately, the Ivorian was sent off for taking off his shirt after he had been yellow carded before.
Meanwhile, the semi-final pairing will see United take on Coventry City and holders Manchester City will battle Chelsea.
Both semi-final games will be played at Wembley Stadium in Saturday 20 April and Sunday 21 April 2024.

A mad Diallo was bought from ATALANTA as a first team player. Man U sent him to U23s….killing talents is one of the disadvantages of the EPL. Today Amad showed the stuff he is made of.
