Fabregas Set To Complete Monaco Move

Cesc Fabregas will arrive in Monaco today (Sunday) to finalise his move from Chelsea.

The tearful Fabregas bid farewell to Chelsea yesterday after making his 501st appearance in English Football in Saturday’s 2-0 home win over Nottingham Forest where he missed a penalty.

The 31-year-old will now reunite with his former Arsenal team-mate, Thierry Henry in Ligue 1 after ironing out the final details of his switch.

Fabregas who received a standing ovation from more than 40,000 gathered at the stadium as he made a tearful farewell to the Blues faithful said: “Time flies, it feels like last week that I started playing professionally and now it’s more than 15 years.”

“It goes so fast and you have to be ready every three days, for the criticism with everyone saying how good you are and the ups and downs.”

“It feels like growing older it never goes away it is technique. Physicality goes away. Technicality stays with you.”

Fabregas has reportedly agreed a two-and-a-half year package and will receive a £9m signing-on bonus.

Monaco have endured a miserable start to the campaign and currently sit second bottom of the French top-flight with just three wins from their 18 matches.

The move is expected to be confirmed within the 24 hours.
