Faletau Raring To Go

Wales number eight Taulupe Faletau says his passion for the sport has been reignited after his injury lay-off. The 28-year-old broke his arm twice last season, a setback that ruled him out of his country’s Grand Slam campaign during the spring.

In fact, he has not played internationally since March 2018 but is back in the fold having been included in Warren Gatland’s pre-World Cup training squad. Faletau also appeared at the global showpiece in both 2011 and 2015 and admits he has rediscovered his fire after his tough spell on the sidelines.

“It’s good to be back in and among the boys and training with them again,” said the Bath player. “I didn’t realise at the time but being away from rugby for that amount of time, the hunger is there more now. “When you are doing it year in, year out, you take it for granted at times. “Hopefully, when I get on the pitch, I can last longer than last time.”
