FIFA Strip Peru Of 2019 U-17 W/Cup Hosting Rights

FIFA has stripped Peru of the 2019 U-17 World Cup hosting rights, citing concerns about the infrastructure reports Completesports.com.

The 2019 U-17 World Cup tournament is expected to kick off from the ‎5th to the 27th October, 2019.

“After several FIFA inspection visits and meetings with the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF), and taking into account various issues related to the organization and infrastructure,” a statement on FIFA official website states.

“That affect the proper conduct of the tournament, the FIFA Council Bureau has decided that the FIFA U-17 World Cup will not be played in Peru.”

“FIFA wishes to express its gratitude to the FPF and the Peruvian authorities for their efforts, and expresses its openness to organizing a tournament in Peru in the future.”

“FIFA is evaluating various alternatives regarding the appointment of the new host country of the competition. Additional details will be communicated by FIFA in due time.”

England are the reigning U17 World champion.

We also hosted the FIFA U20 World Cup 10 years earlier in 1999. A tournament that featured Casillas, Xavi, Ronaldinho, Joseph Yobo etc. The 2009 U17 featured Mario Gotze, Neymar, Omeruo, Onazi, Isco, etc. We have done our bit.
