Freeman Bid Rejected

Queens Park Rangers have reportedly rejected Sheffield United’s £4m bid for midfielder Luke Freeman and are holding out for considerably more. It was reported last week that the Blades had tabled their opening offer for the 27-year-old as Chris Wilder continues to look for players he hopes will be good enough to help the club remain in the Premier League.

Freeman’s excellent form for the Hoops last season meant he was always likely to be targeted this summer and a chance to play in England’s top division is sure to appeal to the former Bristol City ace. He has yet to play in the Premier League and so would be considered a risky purchase for United, but the South Yorkshire outfit have a limited budget and must cut their cloth accordingly despite their elevated status.

According to a report by West London News, the Blades’ bid was immediately turned down with a message that they will need to increase the numbers involved “significantly” if they are to do any deal for the former England Under-17 star this summer. It continues a worrying trend for Blades fans, with Wilder yet to acquire any new players although it is said he is on the cusp of landing a few targets.
