Arsenal captain William Gallas has expressed doubts that the current Gunners squad have the necessary quality and win at all costs mentality to dominate the Premier League or Champions League in the coming seasons.
While acknowledging that Mikel Arteta has improved the side’s mentality and pushed them to title contention, Gallas has frequently noted that the squad lacks the depth or elite edge required to be a dominant force, particularly highlighting a need for a prolific striker.
Despite his harsh criticisms, Gallas has admitted the team has become very strong and competitive, making them favorites to win the Premier League in 2026.

“I don’t think Arsenal will dominate the Premier League or Champions League next season. PSG are able to dominate again because Ligue 1 is different to the Premier League, it’s not as physical or mentally demanding.
“Arsenal haven’t dominated this season either, they let Manchester City back into the title race, and they lost to them twice in the league and in a cup final.
“I think Mikel Arteta will stay for another season, regardless of what happens, and do is best to win possibly his second Premier League trophy next year.”
“Arsenal’s mentality has improved this season. Even after losing to Manchester City, they did not collapse. They’ve been fighting in the Champions League too, and that win against West Ham showed they weren’t going to stop until they scored a goal.”
