Ghanaian Midfielder Rates Nigerian Player Best In Turkish Super Lig

Ghana midfield star Bernard Mensah believes Anthony Nwakaeme is the best player in the Turkey Süper Lig.

Nwakaeme who plays for league leaders Trabzonspor took his season tally to eight goals when he bagged a brace in a 4-0 win over Alanyaspor last Sunday.

Anthony Nwakaeme

It was the 32-year-old’s ninth goal in 24 appearances in all competitions for Trabzonspor so far this season.

And reacting to Nwakaeme’s double strikes at the weekend, Mensah wrote on Twitter: “Best player in the league Anthony Nwakaeme.”

The forward joined Trabzonspor in 2018 from Israeli club Hapoel Beer Sheva where he spent three seasons.

He helped Trabzonspor to the Turkish Cup and Super Cup in 2020.

On 10 November 2017, he made his debut for Nigeria against Algeria in the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

  • He should be in the se ahead of Musa, it’s just pure injustice. If you notice Southgate he always choose the best performing players like other national coaches but I don’t understand this mentality of ours

  • Emmanuel 2 years ago

Mayans,if u check our team, then u will know that it is not Musa that is preventing Nwakeme from Eagles.Musa is a winger and Nwakeme is a top 9.

Haven said that, the competition now lies between Nwakeme,Osimhen,Igalo,Bonaventure,Taiwo Awoniyi and Umar Sadiq. If u were in the coaches shoes will u drop any of the above for Nwakeme? That is a poza for u.

    • Nwakeme is a left winger, just because he wears 9 doesn’t mean he is a “top 9” he is just like Musa but better and has a goal scoring mentality with bunch of assists

    • What is your problem. @Emmanuel.. what is your problem Musa should not be there he hasn’t earned it of late for over 3 years now. Musa is preventing everything do you get it. If I was the coach yes i would drop Musa and take all those players. Or drop Musa take Victor Moses and swap Nwakaeme with Awoniyi on current form more over some of those players you mentioned are versatile and can play across the foward line. What is wrong with you people for goodness sake. We use to say we want good players in SE who are active in their clubs and not warming the bench now you are advocating for a bench warmer and telling us we should drop starters. My friend listen here take your time o… this youe Musa madness is very annoying
