Abduljabar Adama and Colins Ebingha have both qualified for the men’s 50m Butterfly swimming semifinal at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games on Tuesday.
Adama finished fourth in their heat in 23.99s, with Ebingha right behind in fifth after clocking 24.01s.
The result means Nigeria will have two representatives in the semifinal later today.
In athletics, Patience Okon-George qualified for the semifinals of the women’s 400m, gaining an automatic qualification from her heats.

Okon-George finished fourth in her heat, clocking a time of 53.27s which was enough to secure a lane in the semifinal on Wednesday.
Also in the semis is Esther Joseph WBO clocked a time of 52.82s to finish third in her 400m heat at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, booking her spot in tomorrow’s semifinal.
Meanwhile, Edidiong Udo joined Samuel Ogazi in the semifinals of men’s 400m at the 2026, after storming to an emphatic win in the heat 1, clocking a time of 45.73s.
Team Nigeria are in fifth position in the medal with six gold and four silver.
