Gunners Make Murara Approach

Valencia’s Norberto Murara is the latest goalkeeper to be linked with a move to Arsenal, with reports claiming talks have begun. Bernd Leno has cemented his place in the Gunners side after arriving at the start of the season, but a new keeper is needed following the retirement of Petr Cech.

Markus Schubert, who is set to leave Dynamo Dresden this summer, has also been linked, but it would appear that Murara is boss Unai Emery’s number one target. It is claimed that Arsenal have held talks with the player’s representatives and an offer has been made, but securing a deal will be far from easy, as the player is not happy.

The 29-year-old is said to be dissatisfied with the offer that is on the table and would want more in the way of wages, while a lack of Champions League football could be a problem. The Gunners need to win the Europa League to ensure their place in the competition, but Valencia are already there having finished fourth in La Liga. Arsenal would also have to agree a deal with Valencia, which could prove difficult as he is under contract until 2021.
