Hamer To Continue In Goal

Ben Hamer will start in goal for Huddersfield on Saturday ahead of Jonas Lossl, despite the Dane being back in contention.

Hamer has been in between the sticks in the past two games, starting with Crystal Place two weeks ago where a late brace form the Eagles officially relegated the Terriers after two seasons in the top flight.

He then also lined up in the 4-1 thrashing to Leicester last Saturday. Lossl was dropped, after him and his Danish colleagues Phillip Billing and Mathias Jorgensen openly spoke about their futures during the international break, dropping big hints they are set to depart the John Smith’s Stadium.

Boss Jan Siewert says Hamer will get the nod again on Saturday against Tottenham as he continues to ponder all his options before they return to the Championship next season. “It’s the same with the goalkeepers as all the players: I have to look at everyone, still, and everyone belongs to this squad.

For me it’s important,” Siewert told reporters in his pre-match press conference. “Ben had a good game against Crystal Palace and I just had a few possibilities to see him, so he will start against Tottenham, yeah, this I can say.”
