Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson is said to be looking to take Everton’s forgotten midfielder James McCarthy to Selhurst Park.
Hodgson will have a limited transfer budget to spend in the summer and will be looking to spend his money wisely.
Republic of Ireland international McCarthy could be available on the cheap as he will only have a year left on his present deal at Goodison Park.

The 28-year-old suffered a double fracture to his leg 15 months ago but is full fit again yet can not find a way into the first team under their boss Marco Silva and is apparently keen to play on a regular basis to make up for lost time.
Silva is expected to offload a host of Everton squad players in the summer and a move for McCarthy appears to be on the cards.
