Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson says that Eberechi Eze’s lack of Premier League starts for the Eagles is no slight on the talented midfielder.
Eze, 22, has featured in six of their seven top-flight matches in the 2020-21 campaign but only started two of those.
He has clocked up 228 minutes in the Premier League.

Asked about the fact that Eagles fans might be hoping to see more of the former QPR man, Hodgson replied: “Once again it’s [about] competition. Jeff Schlupp isn’t exactly anything other than a very good attacking left-sided midfield player.
“So I had to make choices there. I’ve not been able to fit both in the team together – especially with the form of Andros Townsend on the other side.
“It’s been nothing more complicated than that. But again, like Jairo Riedewald, he has been excellent in training. He’s done really, really well. He’s impressed everybody – not just with his ability but his attitude and professionalism.
“His chance, I’m sure, will come very, very soon.”

With all his skills he is only good for the bench. Championship is different from premier league. How come we want to kill ourselves over eze.
Because he is 22yrs old his first season in the premier league we will be stupid to write him off now infact that would be amateurish and dumb the boy will come good. All those names Hodgson has mentioned how many seasons have they had to perform in the prem league and what have they achieved???? let s write him off at our own peril we will only regret later. The boy is a star in the making. I mean are Nigerian fans this impatient and unprofessional. How many games has been played in the EPL???? and with out fans in the Stadium. Please man give this boy a chance to ginger he was the STAR Man in the whole championship last year or you guys think it is easy to achieve that???. You people lack thought in your assessment of EZE abeg make we hear word joor. Eze carry go!! star boy!!!, don’t mind yeye Super Eagles fans wey no sabi ball.
It is you that your head is not correct. Why claiming to know the guy more than the man that have been coaching him? Oh! U think its he same way u always criticised Rohr. Is championship same with premiership? Isn’t the same guy u were saying Iwobi and others should be dropped because of currently strugling now? We have always been telling you allow the young man to grow
