Hull FC Star Calls It A Day

Hull FC winger Fetuli Talanoa has lost his battle against injuries and has announced his retirement with immediate effect. The 31-year-old has had a troubled time on the injury front over the last six months and hoped his problems were behind him after recovering from a knee injury picked up in pre-season.

However his hopes of making a return to first-team action suffered a setback when he picked up a wrist injury in the reserves, and he has opted to hang up his boots after being told it would take another three months to recover.

“This has been the hardest decision for me and my family but the timing now feels right for our journey to come to an end,” Talanoa said after making the decision. “Injuries have been taking their toll and it has come to a point where I would like to put my family first and take them home closer to our friends and relatives in Australia.

“I have really enjoyed my time here at Hull. The club and the city has felt like home for us from the very beginning and I will always look back with very fond memories.”
