The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) is set to quiz the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) Technical Director, Sunday Adeleye over his role in the 2017 CAA Athletics Grand Prix/Warri Relay, Completesports.com reports
In a letter exclusive to Complete Sports and addressed to the AFN president, the ICPC is “investigating a case that borders on alleged violation of the provisions of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000.”
The ICPC according to section 28 of the said Act also required “the AFN to inform and release Adeleye to appear before the body’s investigative board at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, October 30, 2019.”
Adeleye was also instructed to “come with certified true copies of all the expenditure and retirement made in respect of the 2017 Confederation of African Athletics Grand Prix/Warri Relay which was held in Uzoro, Delta State on 18 July, 2017.”
