Ighalo Elated To Score Lone Goal Winner For Eagles Against Burundi

Odion Ighalo is delighted to score the only goal of the match for the Super Eagles’ 1-0 win against the Swallows of Burundi in Saturday’s AFCON 2019 Group B clash at the Alexandria Stadium, reports Completesports.com.

Ighalo who plays for Chinese Super League club, Shanghai Shenhua came off the bench in 73rd minute for Paul Onuachu, and netted the winner in the 77th minute.

Ighalo received a delightful back-heel pass from Ola Aina and did a sublime finish to help the Super Eagles secure the maximum points in the game.

The former Watford striker also stated that the hard-earned win will boost the morale of the team as they look to win a fourth AFCON title.

“I really feel great to have come on and scored because as a player when you are called upon to come in you have to do your best. It wasn’t easy for us, but then again you don’t expect easy matches,” Ighalo told reporters after the game.

“I think we have set the tone for ourselves moving forward and our confidence has improved. We won it in 2013 and obviously being here we want to win it again.

Gernot Rohr’s men top Group B with three points, while Guinea and Madagascar have a point each. Burundi are rooted to bottom of the log with no point.

The Super Eagles will take on the Syli National of Guinea in their next game on Wednesday at the Alexandria Stadium.

As you can see, that statement is enclosed in quotation marks. An indication that it’s drawn from someone else’s statement.
Just trying to highlight the ridicule this young man Odion Ighalo had been subjected to in time past by some people who know football more than the rest of Africa

Exactly @indubuisi they are praising the guy name now. One was even saying his sin are forgiven, I wonder which sin? Just let him have a bad game they will start insulting the coach. some will even say he collect bribe from him. Nobody is talking about the coach masterstroke of bringing him in to nick the winning goal now.
