Being top goal scorer both in the qualifiers and the tournament was no fluke. He has been unfairly abused back in his country to the point of his wife being the object of attack and the threat to life not something to make light. You can’t be serving your country and be rewarded with harsh criticisms, abuses and threats.
Anyways, now that he has retired from international soccer, I hope our expert ever critical Nigerian fans who never see good in our players will have patience on the young budding inexperienced upcoming strikers that they think should have been playing instead of Ighalo. I hope some of them who remind us that Ighalo is not good enough because he plays for common Chinese club, will not come tomorrow to criticize the younger strikers and reference Ighalo as the example of what it.means to be a good striker? Lol
Our Shanghai Shenhua striker has proven himself to be a top marksman ahead of the notable names in Africa who play for big clubs but this is no surprise as he has shown he is a good striker in Italy, Spain and England before moving to China for the money. Playing in China is not a sign of dwindling career.
It is true, the saying that you don’t know what you have until you lose it.

Hahahahaha……Omolangidi is claiming to be proud of ighalo. Wonders shall never cease…! Ah really some people have no shame. After all the filthy things this guy has written about Odion in the past, after all the disparaging remarks….after all the “pull him down” efforts, God has glorified Ighalo and put him to shame.
This is the same ighalo he made a laughing stock….the same ighalo he claimed was worthless and of no use to the SE, the same ighalo he claimed was not good enough to be a starter, the same ighalo he claimed should be on the bench for osimhen, Ighalo now best in Afcon, best in qualifiers deadliest striker in Africa. God is so great. Enemies of progress have been put to shame. Later they will be claiming they know better than the coach. Honestly, the thunder wey go faya some people is still pricing petrol and matches at NNPC depot.

  • Congratulations to Mr.Ighalo truly you are the best striker we have now both in super eagles and AFCON. I suggest you resend your decision to retire from the national team. Mr. Ighalo you are still young.
