Ighalo Flaunts Special Bonding With The ‘Loving Mata’ At Man United

Nigerian and Manchester United striker, Odion Ighalo has been relishing the love being shown to him by his new teammate, Juan Mata, since moving to the Old Trafford.

Ighalo’s arrival at Manchester United on deadline day of the January transfer window after sealing a loan move from Chinese Super League side, Shanghai Shenhua, had elicited mixed reactions from fans and pundits alike.

However, Spain international Mata had taken a liking to the Nigerian, helping him to settle in quickly while tipping the former Super Eagles forward to make an impact at the Old Trafford.

Ighalo celebrates his goal with Mata

Ighalo tweeted: “Find you a Boss that loves you the way @juanmata8 loves me.” (with emojis of tears of joy, laughter and winking)

Interestingly, Mata had assisted Ighalo’s first goal for United as he provided the cross for the Nigerian to score against Club Brugge in the second leg of their Europa League Round of 32 clash in Belgium which has further bonded the two players.

Ighalo’s performances having scored three goals in seven appearances has silenced his critics with the 30-year old already being tipped to get a contract extension with Manchester United on completion of his current loan deal.

  • I also noticed this, only Mata gives him passes, others will want to score, even if their position is not palatable for scoring. most times when the ball is approaching the opponents eighteen yard, you will see Ighalo already positioned raising up his hand, most times they ignore him and try to score themselves, and they miss. This will not help the club.
