  • It is now clear that it will be any of just 4 strikers to lead the line for Nigeria in Egypt.

These are: Ighalo, Oshimen, Onuachu and Simmy.

If I am to pick only 2 (1 starter and 1 back up), the competition will be fierce but I will just have to settle for Ighalo and Simmy.

@deo, that means you rarely follow Right and his thinking. Simmy doesn’t even get a mention as long as this AFCON is concerned. The fight for the top 9 is between osimhen and Onuachi on who will be the back up plan for Ighalo but I see the both going to AFCON due to their different attributes they bring to the table, which will make Mr Rohr to sacrifice a midfielder to achieve this. Simmy doesn’t even come into the equation at allllll. You can take this my opinion to any bank in Nigeria as a collateral, they will take it for it’s value. Thanks you

        Simmy for where..
Not on the radar at all…
        Oshimen ighalo onuachu and Henry(winger)..

I believe its going to be a tough decision to be made by rohr on whom to drop from the list..

      • Joel, i just selected Simmy because of the toughness of the Italian league (albeit in league 2).

But Paul Onuachu has definitely won hearts and minds with his powerful and purposeful performance against Egypt.

As a lover of young players, Rohr reserves a special place in his heart for Oshimen (who is playing well in Belgium).

Ighalo remains the de facto number one. That said, if he doesn’t deliver in the first match against Burundi on June 22, Rohr may elect to drop him in the second match (like what happened in Russia) for Onuachu or Oshimen (my money will be on Oshimen).
