Iheanacho’s Form Bringing Nigeria’s Football Back To The Top – Oliseh

Former Nigerian midfielder, Sunday Oliseh has applauded the sterling performance of Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheanacho after helping Leicester City knocked out Man United in the FA Cup on Sunday.

The Nigerian international grabbed a brace in the team’s 3-1 victory over Man United to maintain his free goal-scoring form.

Recall that last weekend, Iheanacho bagged a hattrick in Leicester City’s 5-0 win against Sheffield United in the Premier League.

Reacting to his performance, the former Super Eagles coach and Atlanta Olympic gold medalist via his official twitter handle, stated that Iheanacho’s form is gradually bringing Nigeria’s football back to the top.

“Bravo 4 tonight, @Kelechi72 & @Ndidi25 are maybe on the way to bringing Nigeria back to Top club football, Makes me proud,” Oliseh tweeted.

Iheanacho is now one of only two players, along with Sergio Aguero, to score 20 or more goals in England’s cup competitions over the last six years.

He has bagged 12 goals in total and provided five assists in 28 appearances across all competitions this season, amid other dazzling displays.

Kelechi has been fairly untreated that is why he only gets FA cup games no womder he is one of the two highest goal scorers, if he was awarded same PL games he will also score. Even Nigeria fans was forgetting and mocking him. Story change today now everyone is loving HIM, all the best Kelechi just be focused and don’t fall again else they’ll forget you and be naming Ighalo every now and then even after Ighalo retired because Osimhen is not scoring goals again as before. Kelechi has been a highly skilful and intelligent player right from his junior days. He was unjustly treated by Guardiola and Rodgers. But he had quiet belief and patience. You cannot keep excellence down forever. The sun must shine!!

Why are football fans so stupid! I also love Kele but if you or anyone puts Nigeria’s hopes in Kelechi Iheanacho then I will not be watching any of their games or even looking at their results because I know they will lose! Kelechi is a good player, the best from him is to be on the bench if we need subs in the closing minutes of teams. Some idiots on here saying how he was unfairly treated don’t know anything about football or they are headline catchers who have not watched in day in day out but even then, they have seen him in action before either for Nigeria or whatever, he is not got what it takes at the absolute top level and not because of any physical attributes because there are people with less skills or attributes than him who are world class, I think his problem is a mental one, I dont think he is sharp enough and can be very lazy, but if you play him and lose (which you will) it is not his fault but the fault of those who chose him, you cannot expect him to refuse to play when that is his profession and he has a family to look after as well as other responsibilities like everyone else so it is counter productive to expect him to make the right call which is not to play, I am not against him getting paid, No! In fact I am very happy for him to have a career and get all the money he is getting, but all this new hype about him will only hurt Nigeria in the long run because you people will go and follow hype and play him then lose, same applies with Iwobi but with Alex, it is to a lesser degree, Iwobi is a lot more useful but also lacking at the very top and for that same reason of mentality and effort/laziness.
