The Ikot Ekpene Township Stadium,;home-ground of Vandrezzer FC is fast becoming a home away from home for the club as more persons, organizations and clubs pledge support for the Ibiono-Ibom origin club.
The latest of which is the Ikot Ekpene Club 1978.
Speaking on behalf of the Club, the President Mr Victor Udofia pledged full support to Vandrezzer FC.
“I welcome Vandrezzer FC to Ikot Ekpene. The zeal that you have brought here will lighten up this town for us. What I heard on the day of the first home match was enough to tell me that something good is happening here and I won’t miss this sunday’s match”.
Mr Victor Udofia who also is a board member of the Ethical and Attitudinal Re-Orientation Commission called on the Lions of Naija to give opportunity to talents in the vicinity while thanking the club for making a bold step to curb crime through Football.

“We have good footballers in Ikot Ekpene that if given the opportunity we can get the best from them.
You are coming in to do a lot of things for us, our boys, relaxation. Through playing,crime will reduce in Ikot Ekpene because lots of people will be there to watch. The good,the bad and the ugly”.
Udofia encouraged the club to feel free to visit the club house at anytime as they are ready to partner for a healthy relationship.
“Once again, you are welcome and we are happy to see you. It’s good we are identifying with you now so if you come for your matches, we can give you the club house to relax at anytime hence we are partnering with you to ensure it works”.
Reacting to the warm reception, Joe Udofia took time out to explain the four cardinal principles on which Vandrezzer FC was founded which are; Football Artistry, Arts, Entertainment and Hospitality, giving practical examples of how he intends to create an impact in the Nigerian football industry. He also said he felt at home in Ikot Ekpene , describing the people as very friendly :
” I had no doubt that Ikot Ekpene which is my maternal home, will be very receptive to us. What we want to do here is show Nigeria how football is run according to international best practices. I have travelled to several stadiums around the globe and seen that football is indeed more than a game. We will promote Ikot Ekpene arts, and promise to inculcate youths of the area into our plans”.
Introducing Joe Udofia to the leadership and members of the Ikot Ekpene Club 1978 , Member representing Ikot Ekpene constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Idongesit Ntepkere earlier described the Vandrezzer boss as a “pride of Akwa Ibom and progressive thinking individual who has taken Nigerian football by storm”.
As revealed by its President, the Ikot Ekpene club 1978 is a social, recreational and sports club with sporting activities ranging from tennis, football ,squash and is coming up to standard as seen in other climes.

Present at the reception were members of the Ikot Ekpene club 1978; members of the Ikot Ekpene football family led by the local government FA Chairman Etido Iyang; officials of Vandrezzer Energy Services Ltd led by Executive Director Commercials, Kingsley Anyabele; Vandrezzer FC officials including Team Manager Fatai Olayinka & Media Director George Essien, and Vandrezzer FC number one supporter in the United Kingdom Mohammed Usman Butt, who flew in from London to watch the team’s home game this Sunday.
Vandrezzer FC will take on visiting Joy Comets FC of Lagos on Sunday December 22nd at the Ikot Ekpene stadium.
The Lions of Naija go into the tie, which is their final game for the year 2019, placed 7th on the 10 team B2 table, with 3 points from two games.
They have 2 outstanding games against Jossy FC and Rovers FC which were both moved indefinitely by the NNL management.
