Tottenham Hotspur star Xavi Simons has swapped the training ground for the lecture hall, enrolling at Harvard Business School as he continues his recovery from a long-term knee injury.
Simons suffered a devastating anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture in his right knee, ruling him out for the remainder of the season and much of the following campaign.

While report timelines suggest he may not return to competitive action until the start of next year, the Dutch midfielder is making productive use of his time away from the pitch.
Simons has been accepted onto Harvard Business School’s prestigious Crossover Into Business program, a remote course tailored specifically for professional athletes seeking to develop commercial acumen and prepare for future business ventures.
Taking to LinkedIn to announce the venture, Simons shared:”I’m going back to school. During my recovery, I’ve been trying to use my time in the best way possible. Football is still my main focus, but I also want to keep learning and improving away from the pitch.”
The 23-year-old explained that the program pairs athletes with Harvard MBA students, allowing him to gain deeper insights into enterprise management and different industries.

“I’ve always been interested in more than just football. I want to understand the business side of the game better, learn from people in different industries and keep developing as a person,” Simons added.
During his rehabilitation stint in the United States, Simons visited Harvard’s Boston campus and connected with Professor Anita Elberse, whom he previously met during his stints at Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
While getting back onto the turf remains his absolute priority, Simons’ side venture highlights a proactive approach to investing in his personal growth beyond the game.
