Stanley Nwabali has revealed that his main priority is helping Chippa United enjoy a successful season rather than reclaiming the Super Eagles’ number one goalkeeping spot.
Nwabali rejoined the South African club last month after previously leaving Chippa United in February.
During his absence from the national team, Maduka Okoye and Arthur Okonkwo have featured in goal for the Super Eagles.
The Super Eagles will return to action in September when they face Madagascar in a 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Nwabali, however, insists his immediate focus is on performing well for Chippa United and helping the club achieve its objectives this season.
“I feel positive coming back to the club, not just for me but also for the team. The relationship and the agreement is all good. I just want the team to succeed this season,” Nwabali told sabcsport.
“I’m not really worried about that one (Super Eagles return), I’m only focused on helping my club pick up as many points as possible. So for now I’m not too worried about the National team.”
