Imo Police, Nigerian Army, Customs, Others Set For Inter Agency Games In Owerri

The police and other members of security outfits in Imo State will for once drop their guns and batons and embrace sports in a competitive Inter Agency Games billed for November this year, Completesports.com reports.

The Inter Agency Games will involve officers and men of the Nigeria Police, Customs, Immigration, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence, (NSCD), Directorate of State Security Services (DSSS), the Nigerian Army, Prison Services and the State Intelligence Agency (SIA) amongst others.

In a bold bid to ensure a successful Imo Inter Agency Games come November, members of the Main Organising Committee (MOC), over the weekend, paid a courtesy call on the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Mr Rabiu Ladoko in his office, in Owerri.

The delegation, which comprised of representatives of the Army- Major Olatoye, Directorate of State Security Services (DSSS), Ita Effiom and Supol Onovo, FFS- Supol Ejiogu and Supol Eze, NIS- Supol Nwoke and SIA Loveth had Superintendent of Police (Supol) Madugba James as leader of delegation.

NSCDC member in the strong delegation was Frank Isaac, Media Officer Kennedy Onwunali and Mr Oyoyol who is the Consultant to the Games.

During the courtesy visit, the commissioner of police Imo State Police Command, Rabiu Ladodo charged members of the Imo Inter Agency Games to work assiduously for the success of the Games.

The Police boss said the synergy from the Games will send the right signal to the society that the organizations are ready to work together for the progress of Imo State and the nation.

He urged the committee members to seek assistance from Imo State Sports Commission and other relevant bodies in order to ensure a successful and hitch-free Games.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation Superintendent of Police, Supol James Maduga informed the commissioner of Police the extent the organising committee has reached in its preparation towards ensuring a successful and hitch free Games.

The MOC boss solicited the support of the State Police chief for the championship which will bring all the security agencies in the state together to compete for various honours under a favourable environment.

Members of the committee who attended the visit expressed delight at the fatherly love the Commissioner has extended to their different units and members of all the security organizations in the state.

In preparation for the Games, the Nigeria Police football team had during the midweek hosted their counterparts from NSCDC in the return leg match of their inter agency friendly football match at the Police Headquarters, Owerri.

The match ended 1-0 in favour of the Police, otherwise known as “The Rabiu Ladodo Boys”.
