Injury Stops Ebuehi from Super Eagles World Cup Playoffs

Venezia defender Tyronne Ebuehi will play no part in the Super Eagles 2022 FIFA World Cup playoff against the Black Stars of Ghana after suffering a hamstring injury in the club’s I-1 draw against Genoa last weekend.

Ebuehi replaced Domen Crnigoj after the break and later sustained a thigh injury.

Ebuehi was replaced by Austria defender Maximiian Ullmann 15 minutes from time.

The right-back according to reports, is expected to spend several weeks on the sidelines which has effectively ruled him out of the qualifiers.

The versatile defender was a last-minute addition to the Super Eagles squad to the recent 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Ebuehi has battled injuries for the past few years.

He suffered a long-term injury that plagued his time at Portuguese giants Benfica.

Wish you a speedy recovery Ebuehi.

On Osimhen issue, I wish him speedy recovery also. I have been saying this almost every day, our own should not rely on Osimhen alone if they have to beat Ghana.

Osimhen is our main striker no doubt but he’s not fully fit and we can’t rush him and most importantly, against a physical side Ghanaian team.

Our own can’t tell us that they don’t have a reliable and capable striker that can compliments Osimhen or replace him. Osimhen can only play for few minutes against Ghana if our own have to get the best of him.

However, this is where am going, who will lead the attack against Ghana? This is what am expecting CSN to ask Nigerians and the coaching crew.

CSN can do more than what they are doing now. By now, we should be hearing from the coaches of the Super Eagles.

Also, we can’t rely on Uzoho, Okoye and Akpeyi. A week or so is a enough to train another keeper and I’m pretty sure as a professional, he won’t disappoint us. Instead of gambling on Uzoho, Okoye and Akpeyi.

For me, I will risk it and bring Adeleye in against Ghana than putting any of the three goalies. Uzoho wasn’t in great form at this year Afcon. Okoye is not ready yet and Akpeyi is not reliable so, what is coach Agu doing in the Super Eagles and it doesn’t make any sense to ask either of the three goalies to be in goal against Ghana.

I don’t think the coaches of the Super Eagles are ready to take the risk. They should learn from coach “Waldrum” the Super Falcons coach. Without his super star players, he won the first leg Nigeria and the second leg in Ivory Coast. Even, he benched his first choice golie and two to three of his main midfielders were on the bench and finally, the gaffer got the job done in Ivory Coast.

Can our own do without retired Ighalo? Can our own do without having Akpeyi, John Noble and Shehu? This is the last chance for our own to prove to us that they are better than the foriegn coach.

Our own have themselves to be blamed. If to say they used Dessers in Cameroon at the just concluded tournament by now, they won’t have us worried.

I don’t think they are sincere with their selections. Again, who will lead the attack if Osimhen is not available play against
Ghana or can’t play more than 30 minutes against the black stars? Over to you CSN. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

Get well soon, Ebuehi. Speedy recovery to you.
Dessers is a good striker. I think by now he should be a squad player in the SE. He can’t be the starting striker for now. That position is occupied by Osimhen. But he can be a great sub, and he can also be a great option to pair Osimhen when we need to play 2 strikers.
Regarding selection for the Ghana game, there are 2 things that do not favor Dessers at this time:
    1) A crucial world cup playoff IS NOT an ideal scenario for looking at new players. Unless Dessers can show that he is one of the VERY BEST we have, it’s unlikely he will be invited.
    2) We can only have so many strikers in the matchday squad. Let’s assume we go with 4 strikers. The top 3 are Osimhen, Dennis and Iheanacho. That means we have to pick one out of Onuachu, Sadiq, Awoniyi, Ighalo and Dessers for the 4th slot.
Dessers may or may not get to play against Ghana.
If he’s not selected for the Ghana game, that doesn’t mean he has no future with the SE.
What he can do now is keep working hard. Keep grabbing the goals and assists.
Hopefully, after we have obtained the world cup ticket, then we will need to play a bunch of friendlies.
THAT IS WHERE DESSERS AND OTHER PLAYERS WILL GET THEIR CHANCE TO IMPRESS.
Regarding the goalkeeping department, at the moment, Okoye does not inspire confidence. Uzoho and Akpeyi are probably a little bit more trusted by fans. But they also have not been convincing of recent.
So for me, this is where we need to really follow the rule of playing only the best players. We need to look in our local league and round the planet and select the top 3 goalies we have based on current form.
WE NEED RELIABLE HANDS IN GOAL, NOT ONLY AGAINST GHANA, BUT IN ALL FUTURE SE MATCHES.

Uzoho has not played for his club since he returned from Afcon. A club in Cyprus for that matter..

Aino has not played a competitive game since he returned from Afcon as well.

    Ebuehi is injured.

    Shehi is back playing regularly.

Awaziem did not play in the Afcon and has not played a single game for his club after the Afcon..

The right back position is our Major problem at the moment, aside shehu who isn’t a regular right back no other player is playing regularly in their club aside ebuehi who is injured..

I wonder who plays that position.. even akupugoma is not playing regularly as well.

    May God help us

As for goalkeeping position, you can’t drop an okoyo who is will playing psv tomorrow to a uzoho is is warming bench in Cyprus
