International Friendly: Super Eagles To Face Cameroon Twice In Austria

The Super Eagles will face perennial foes Cameroon twice in Austria next month after the Nigeria Football Federation failed to secure another opponent for a second friendly , reports Completesports.com.

The three-time African champions are scheduled to face the Indomitable Lions in a friendly at the Stadion Weiner Neustadt , Austria on Friday, June 4.

The West Africans will now take on same opponent four days later at the same venue.

Respected sports journalist Osazu Obayiwana broke the news on the social media on Monday night.

“@NGSuperEagles will end up playing @FecafootOfficie’s #IndomitableLions twice in Austria, because they cannot find another opponent for a second friendly,” Obayiwana wrote on his Twitter handle.

The NFF confirmed venue and kick-off time for the first friendly on Sunday. The game will kick-off at 8.30 local time.

The friendly is expected to prepare both teams for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers which will kick-off later this year.

Gernot Rohr’s charges have now another friendly against Mexico in Los Angeles, United States of America on July 3.

That’s beautiful. It’s better than being idle during such international break

  • Oga Garnot Rhor please give each player at least 45min minimum of game time let them show us what they can bring to the table…It’s a friendly and it’s an opportunity for most players to prove their worth so they need game time…. Please don’t field the normal starting eleven for 80mins and start rushing changes when the game is getting finished thereby putting so much pressure on this fringe players…..If possible mix them up let us see two different 11s at both halfs so that everyone will have the time to show what he is made of

It is not possible to field normal starting 11 now with the absence of up to 4 of his first 11. Balogun, Sanusi, Aribo and Chukwueze are not in the final list.

So we must have fringe and new players playing which is good.
