Former Italy defender, Fabio Cannavaro has revealed he turned down the chance to coach the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The 50-year-old was among the expatriates approached by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to tinker the Super Eagles.
Cannavaro stated that his immediate priority for now is not to work in Africa.

The former Juventus and Real Madrid centre-back said he is awaiting offers from clubs in Europe and Italy.
“I had offers from Nigeria [national team] and Iranian clubs, but I want to wait for Serie A and European clubs until December. After that, I may start travelling again,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

It’s a big lie. Stop using the SE to promote yourself, man.
NFF contacted me, Kel, for the job too, but I told them I was unavailable now. I said maybe January.
Shut up, Cannavaro. Nah NFF I blame. Come one, come all.
Thanks Kel for your contribution. Imagine how clueless is the NFF. What coaching experience has Canivaro. Now I see why our football is not moving forward
Kel my man, you see road jare.
If you had accepted the offer ehn, you for hear weeeeen.
They would have owed the living daylights out of you.
By the time they owe you for like 18 months, your eye go clear!
Under normal circumstances, the job of SE coach is a dream job, a plum job.
But under these useless miscreants in the Glass House, no decent coach will touch the job, not even with a 10-foot pole.
I challenge the current NFF president and his board of misfits to hire a decent coach, and prove me wrong!
Let me see the coach that will be willing to work with this bunch of salary sharers.
Only Okrika and Oshodi coaches will talk to them. The elite coaches won’t even look their way!
After all the rigmarole and gimmicks, traveling up and down, London today, Paris tomorrow, conducting phantom interviews, announcing that coaches have been hired without agreement being reached, LAS LAS, NA THEIR MAN EGUAVOEN DEM KUKU PUT FOR THERE.
So why not just hire Eguavoen from the get go? Why waste all this time?
Better yet, why not allow Finidi and his bia bia to continue?
I hope for a good result. If we lose these upcoming games, my interest in Nigerian football will have to take a backseat. I can’t continue to be a fan when the custodians of the game, our NFF, are so clueless, incompetent and horribly corrupt. Nonsense and ingredients!
In my case, Super Eagles have already taken a back seat. Our administrators have killed us. In the past, I used to follow players’ arrivals, training sessions, possible 11, and so on. Now, I don’t even know who’s in camp. Imagine players such as Osimhen, Lookman, Chukwueze and co not playing in the world cup throughout their career. It sounds far-fetched, but that’s where we are headed
Why are you guys only interested in the incompetence in football?when the whole country is crumbling because of incompetence. Do you guys football would be insulated from this madness?.They go all over the world looking for Oyibo coach when that fails they return back to their vomit,an indigenous coach. The ridicule is just too much for some of us.
