Iwobi Dreams Europa League Glory; Tips Liverpool To Win UCL Final

Alex Iwobi is eager to lift the Europa League in a bid to fulfill his childhood dream of winning trophies for Arsenal as they prepare to face Chelsea in the final next Wednesday in Baku reports Completesports.com.

Iwobi, who has been with Arsenal since 2004, remains upbeat featuring for Arsenal in their first European final since the Gunners lost 2-1 to Barcelona in the Champions League in 2006.

“To be here and have an opportunity to play in such a big final is great,” Iwobi told Sky Sports.

“I’ve had many dreams of winning things for Arsenal at a young age. I never thought I’d make it this far.”

“Every trophy to us is special, we always want to do our best and win as many as we can, and the Europa League final is another one we can win.”

Arsenal, who finished fifth in the Premier League, will qualify for next season’s Champions League if they beat Chelsea.

It would be Arsenal’s first European trophy since they won the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1994.

The 22-year-old Iwobi also tipped Liverpool to win the UEFA Champions League.

The Reds will face London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur in the finals after they overcame Barcelona 4-3 on aggregate in the semi-final of the competition.

“We’re not trying to focus on Tottenham to be fair, I actually hope they lose,”

“We’re not trying to look at them, they’ve done well to be fair, you have to give it to them, but we want to focus on ourselves and bring a trophy back.”

The stakes are high for Unai Emery’s side, with victory over the Chelsea seeing them qualify for next season’s Champions League.

The Nigerian international also believes Petr Cech will be motivated to sign off on a glittering career on the 29th of May by winning the Europa League title at the expense of his former team, Chelsea

“Petr’s been a legend, not just for us but also for Chelsea, so I’m sure he’ll have a lot of feelings going into the game and there will be no better way for him to sign off than winning the Europa League final – against Chelsea as well, that would be great.”

The Europa League final will be the last game for Cech at Arsenal, who has been rumoured to become a sporting director at Chelsea when the season ends.

Iwobi has been included in Nigeria’s provisional squad for the 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations in Egypt.
