The days of Alex Iwobi as an Everton player now appears to be numbered after manager, Carlo Ancelotti surprisingly dropped the Nigerian from his entire match-day squad against Salford City.

It was thought that Iwobi would land himself a huge opportunity to impress Ancelotti as the Toffees hosted Salford at the Goodison Park in the Carabao Cup Second Round tie on Wednesday night.

But to the surprise of many football lovers and pundits alike, the Italian tactician did not only drop Iwobi from the starting line-up, he actually left the winger out the match-day squad.

Iwobi recorded his worst season ever in the Premier League after ending tae 2019/20 campaign with just a goal in 25 appearances for Everton while his goal drought spanned 23 whole matches.

The Super Eagles attacker struggled to have much impact in his first season at Everton, having contributed just o goals and an assist in 28 games across all competitions for the Toffees.

According to The Mirror, Iwobi has been tipped to leave Everton during the current summer transfer window as the Toffees boss, Ancelotti moves to shift a number of fringe players.

This was really informative! The essence of football was seen through the athlete’s experiences

  • I hope ancelotti will not regret this. You don’t ship out a player like iwobi. He is a gifted player. You can still have him around even if you don’t like his face.

You guys should have sense now! Nobody hates Iwobi…wake up! The Ancelloti you guys are claiming suddenly hates Iwobi, do you know how many times Iwobi played under him since he came on at Everton and failed to impress him?? He’s a senior Coach expected to Land Everton to the Top-6. Truth be told, he can’t achieve that by featuring Mediocre Iwobi ahead of Sound players like James, Richarlson, Allan, Doucoure, DCL, Bernard and Walcott. Have you watch the aforementioned guys play?? Do you see there last two games. They didn’t just win. They played excellently well. Iwobi would have just been misplacing passes up and down spoiling there games. He needs to up his game… simple! Lets face the truth. @Chairmanfemi was saying something meaningful on this few days ago and stopped cuz newbies Glory and co turned it to A war of words. Still waiting for @Drey, Hush, Deo, Omo9ja and other top forumites has to say on this or they are all “Iwobi-Addicts” too?

Everton last season wasn’t as good as it has been so far this season. It’s unfair to pick Iwobi and make him a scapegoat whereas as a team Everton in the just concluded season was in a state of total disorder.

According to news from Owngoal Nigeria,Iwobi had injuries in training prior to their first league game this season and also the Carabao cup which may be responsible for his absence in the two official games so far.

We should be patient with iwobi the season is relatively young besides according to feelers he’s highly rated by Carlo Ancelotti.

We need to see him play with the lads this season before making assessments. So far he has not featured so lets keep our cool and wait.
