Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi, has commended his Premier League side, Everton’s performance against Arsenal in a pre- season friendly.

There were no further goals scored in the second half.

In an interview with Evertonfc.com, Iwobi praised the display of the Toffees despite losing, highlighting the fact that it was their first pre-season game.

“It was good. Obviously I played in the second half and I feel like we managed to put a bit more pressure on them–we had a couple of chances and opportunities, but overall, I think everyone did well,” Iwobi said.

“At the end of the day, it was our first game, and it was their third so they were going to be a tad sharper than us.

“We had a lot of work to do and we can take the positives from this game.

“There were opportunities for some of the young lads as well.

“Everyone is trying to impress, but there is a lot more work to do.”

Iwobi scored three goals and recorded three assists in 32 games in all competitions for Everton last season.

Iwobi has played 59 games for the Super Eagles and has scored 10 goals.

Everton finished 16th in the Premier League last season with 39 points from 38 games.

Up next for Everton in their preseason USA tour is a friendly match against Major League Soccer (MLS) side, Minnosota United at the Allianz Field in Minnesota, on Thursday June 21, 2022.

Heaven bless Iwobi and all deserving Super Eagles players.

  • I urge the NFF to make quick actions on getting jordan torunarigha to switch to Nigeria, because he is willing to Change to Nigeria after rejecting the offers in 2018 before the world cup. But now he is interested in changing to Nigeria and he confirmed that he has had talks with rhor gernot before he was sacked but hasn’t spoken with peserio.
My main reason for asking for this guy is because of his qualities and West ham have already made a bid for him and it looks like the deal is gonna happen
