In the 63rd minute Everton doubled their lead through Anthony Gordon from close range.

The goal was initially disallowed, but after consulting the VAR, referee Simon Hooper gave the goal because an offside was incorrectly flagged.

And with six minutes left to play Everton went 3-0 up thanks to Dwight McNeil, who drove toward the box, passed to Iwobi who back heeled to him to slot home.

The win took Everton to 11th place on 13 points in the Premier League table.

And at the Etihad Manchester City bounced back from the loss to Liverpool as they beat Brighton 3-1.

Erling Haaland returned to scoring form as he bagged a brace while Kevin De Bruyne for City’s third goal.

City, now on 26 points, have closed the gap on leaders Arsenal to just a point.

Iwobi, you keep improving week in week out. You are an asset to the Super Eagles for years to come. The advice we gave you in your time of difficulty worked.
The sky is the starting point of Iwobi and all deserving Super Eagles players

Alexander the king IWOBI showed once again that we Nigerians are ever always looking far away from home to scramble for what we already have. He once again showed he is far more effective and vastly exposed than Eze. Eze also some really good talent but need loads of international football to get to his optimum. WILL ENGLAND GIVE HIM THAT NEEDED INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL? I SERIOUSLY DOUBT WILL EVER HAPPEN. BUT NEVER WE SAY NEVER.

@Glory, you see my brother you and i have always know that Iwobi is the messaih of the supereagles, his absent in that our number 10 position cost us afcon progress and worldcup failure, i am yet to see an african roving midfielder with his qualities, he is a ronaldinho kind midfielder, even jay jay, and mikel despite were wonderful midfielders, but they were not as fast and mobile like iwobi does in our midfield from our afcon 2019 qualification to the turnament it self in continuation to the afcon 2021/ wcup qualification
matches, iwobi was still the man to count on, all of a suden nigerians begin to complain unnecesarily, bcos of his club performance(oversabi premierleague fance who validates players by premier cheap goals) and also bcos of aribo scoring form, undermining the primary duty of a number ten which aribo completely lacks. rohr altered his formation that has been working, to please some confused fans, a formation that worked against ukraine and brazil was nolonger an option then iwobi was now draged to bench or wings, that was where our football crumbled again, when eguavon took over he jumped into thesame mistake by ignoring iwobi and going back to 442 forcing aribo and ndidi two lesser Creative midfielders to take charge, from first games i knew we will suffer in the hands of bigger teams, bcos we where only utilising the wings via moses simon but i was never convince with that midfield, aribo and ndidi cannot beat one marker and fool of side passes, it was like olofijana and etuhu combonation( show me supereagles midfielders and i will tell you how far we can go in a turnament) nigeria can manage a weak attack or even a lacking defender in a turnament, but nigeria can not manage with weak midfield or a poor goal keeper. Some International experts noticed the absent of iwobi including jay jay, alot of people tought he was been bayarced, but the truth is Without iwobi there is total lost of creativity in our football, it becomes less entertaining and slow in trafic, that boy is just a blessing, his commitment and humility is also very appealing. He is the reason why we didnt miss mikel, and iwobi need more freedom, pezero cannot continue with 442 fomat Nigeria will suffer with that formation, our best format is 433, iwobi need two solid midfielders behind him to be able to flex, ndidi and etebo was a good option, but onyeka, nwobodo allhasan yosuf are not bad options too.
Iwobi is our engine, without iwobi all our wingers suffer too much, chukueze kalu and moses simon flows better wen iwobi leads, he works well with everybody including wingbacks, even aribo plays better with iwobi in the field he force out the best in all players.
Eze and olise are also good option for iwobi if they choose Nigeria, but for now the number ten position is iwobis, and pezero should try and get obina nwobodo that guy is another midfield general.
When i watched algeria game it exposed our new 442 system it canot work, nigeria function best with three midfielders, both sinior and under age level, even in female football, it has been working, the coach should take note.
