Iwobi:Bring On Man United, Everton Star Targets  Third Carabao Cup Goal In 18 Games

Nigeria international Alex Iwobi is looking forward to Everton’s upcoming Carabao Cup clash with Manchester United as he looks forward to scoring his third goal in the competition-all in the blue colours of the Toffees.

The two teams will clash in the quarterfinal encounter at Goodison Park on Wednesday with Iwobi’s side Everton looking to make it four wins in a row.

Iwobi has helped the Toffees secure wins against Chelsea, Leicester City and Arsenal in the English Premier League.

“For us to achieve nine points from our recent games against Chelsea, Leicester and Arsenal gives us real confidence and belief that we can do the same against any other team,” Iwobi said to Everton’s official website.

“I’m happy with my contribution and to be creating chances – and it was a great feeling coming back against my old club – but it’s all about the team performance.”

United, who have Iwobi’s former Nigeria teammate Odion Ighalo on their books, are coming into the cup game in top form having hammered Leeds United 6-2 in a league game on Sunday.

“We now turn our attention to Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup quarterfinal against Manchester United,” the 24-year-old playmaker continued.

“It’s a big game and another match under the lights at Goodison with 2,000 of our fans cheering us on. We’re in competitions to try to win them.

“We want to win as many as we can, not just for us but for the fans, especially.”

Iwobi has made 15 appearances across all competitions this season and scored once in the process.
