And despite representing England from U15 through to the U21s the midfielder has now made the decision to pledge his senior international career to Germany.

“I’ve thought about this question a lot,” he told The Athletic.

“What is best for my future? Where do I have more chances to play?

“In the end, I just listened to the feeling that over a long period of time kept telling me that it was the right decision to play for Germany, the land I was born in.

“Still, it wasn’t an easy decision for me.”

Oh I thought they said his father was from Nigeria. People call me names when I say that because Nigera permits dual citizenship anybody born overseas can opt to reject Nigerian citizenship and play football for the country of their birth. Like Bukayo Saka and Tammy Abraham and Tomorin. Let us br proud and stop begging foreigners to wear our country’s colours.

    • his father is a :Nigeria while his mother is a german,he was born in germany and later at age 7 moved to england with the mother, but latter returned to germany.
