Bordeaux have reportedly failed in their efforts to bring in Slavisa Jokanovic as their new manager.
The Ligue 1 outfit are looking to replace Ricardo Gomes in the hotseat after the Brazilian’s five-month tenure was ended with the club stuck in a run of one win in seven games in all competitions.
And reports claim they made a move to bring in Jokanovic, who is without a club after being sacked by Fulham in November following a disastrous start to life back in the Premier League. However, the Serbian, who has guided both Fulham and Watford to promotion to the English top flight during his career, decided against the move to France.
It is the latest job Jokanovic has rejected after he also turned down moves by Championship sides Nottingham Forest and Stoke City to take over their vacant positions since departing Craven Cottage. It now looks like Portuguese coach Paulo Sousa will take on the Bordeaux job after being offered a three-year contract.
