Jones Makes Four Changes

Jack Nowell, Henry Slade, Ben Moon and Mark Wilson will come into England’s line-up for the Six Nations clash against Scotland as the coach, Jones makes changes.

England go into Saturday’s final game at Twickenham knowing that a win in the Calcutta Cup clash and defeat for Wales against Ireland in Cardiff should be enough to secure them the Six Nations title for 2019.

And coach Eddie Jones has opted to leave Joe Cokanasiga out of the 23-man squad with Nowell coming into the XV in his place, while Ben Te’o drops to the bench to be replaced by Slade as Manu Tuilagi will move to inside centre.

There are also two changes in the pack as Wilson and Moon replace blindside flanker Brad Shields and loosehead prop Ellis Genge respectively.

Looking ahead to the game, Jones, who will hand Ben Youngs an 85th appearance to make him England’s most capped scrum half of all time, said: “It is the last week of the tournament so it’s exciting.

It will be a fascinating finish to the Championship with three teams that can win it and we are playing against one of our most traditional foes in Scotland for the Calcutta Cup.

“We have had a good preparation and the side is going to be in a great state to play against Scotland on Saturday. “Scotland is a difficult side, they are always at you, they play with a lot of enthusiasm and effort and have got a lot of attacking strings to their bow.

“Finn Russell is an exceptional player at 10 and they have got some pace on the outside so we are going to have to defend really well against them.”
