Jota Hails Striking Link-Up

Diogo Jota says his strike partnership with Raul Jimenez now feels a ‘natural’ link-up, after working hard at the start of the season.

The pair have been receiving praise from all quarters after their displays for Wanderers this term, with both players combining for 20 goals so far this season – with Jota bagging six and Jimenez scoring 14.

Some of the link-up play has caught the eye in recent weeks, especially in the goals they scored against Cardiff earlier this month, with the Portuguese admitting that it’s something that has come following hard work.

Jota told the club’s website: “We worked on it at the beginning of the season to understand each other, of course, when a new player arrives we have to adapt to him, and that’s that we did.”

The 22-year-old added: “I think our relationship now is natural, but we still work hard on it during the week to put in a good performance like this today.”

The pair will look to link up again in Wolves’ FA Cup quarter-final clash with Manchester United at Molineux this weekend, before they return to league action on March 30, when they face Burnley at Turf Moor.
