Kayode Misses Out On Europa League Team Of The Week

Nigeria striker Olanrewaju Kayode was not included in the Europa League Team of the Week, despite grabbing his fourth goal of the competition in Sivasspor’s win at Qarabag, Completesports.com reports.

The Team of the Week was published on Europa League’s verified Twitter handle on Friday.

Kayode scored in the 58th minute to bring the score to 2-2 before Arouna Kone’s winner which sealed a 3-2 win for Sivasspor.

Kayode’s goal means he is joint-third in the Europa League’s top scorers chart in the current campaign.

He is just two goals short of leading scoring Yusuf Yazici of Lille.

However, despite continuing his impressive performance in the competition on Thursday, he was overlooked for selection.

Sivasspor are third on six points in Group I with Villarreal on top with 10 points and Maccabi Tel Aviv second with seven points.

  • Nice one kayode, keep banging in the goals. You may not get recognized by the Super eagles officials but you might get a better deal in a better club.
Zaidu also scored his first champions league goal and was rated as one of the best eleven players in the champions league games this week.
Lets not mix words the guy is good and will surely improve defensively. All he needs is a little direction and encouragement he may turn out to be one of our best left full back yet.
Kelechi also did well and also chukwueze
