Kehl: Borussia Dortmund Will Keep Hold Of Haaland

Borussia Dortmund chief Sebastien Kehl says the club are confident they can keep Erling Haaland.

The Norwegian is drawing interest from Manchester United, Manchester City, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Kehl, who will succeed Michael Zorc as Dortmund sporting director in the summer – told TribalFootball: “The plan is that when the time comes, we will get together and sit down at the table.

“But we are not going to announce when we will do that right now. What is clear, however, is that we are trying to achieve clarity.

“We are trying to persuade Erling to continue to play for Dortmund, and I don’t think our chances are too bad.”

The Norwegian is said to be a prime target for Barcelona this summer although just how the club will finance such a deal remains a mystery.

Nevertheless, with most of Europe’s elite keen on the young striker, his signing would be a major coup for the struggling Catalans, and Carrasco’s comments have sparked excitement over the possibility.

“Haaland is going to Barcelona,” Carrasco said on Gerard Romero’s ‘El Jijantes’ show.

“I know that the president loves Erling Haaland, he knows that he is a symbolic player, a reference, and a flagship of this project and he can dominate European football for the coming years.”

He then explained how Haaland would arrive as the star of Barcelona, before stating that “it wouldn’t be the case [if he were to move to] Real Madrid.”
