Si Woo Kim holds the lead for a third straight day at the Valero Texas Open although his halfway advantage has been cut to one. The South Korean had built a four-shot lead after the opening 36 holes of the tournament at TPC San Antonio but his third round got off to a rocky stay as he made a bogey at the first.
However, the 23-year-old, who is searching for his third PGA Tour title, managed to refocus quickly and four birdies helped him sign for a steady three-under-par 69, leaving him on -15 overall and one stroke ahead. Canadian Corey Conners made one of the biggest surges up the leaderboard on Saturday as he made eight birdies and two bogeys in a brilliant six-under-par 66 to take sole possession of second on -14.
American Charley Hoffman also rocketed up the standings from 20th to third after signing for a magnificent eight-under-par 64 in a round that included seven birdies, one eagle and a bogey. US star Scott Brown, Venezuelan Jhonattan Vegas and South Korean Kyoung-Hoon Lee are a further two strokes back on -11, four off the leader, after carding rounds of 67, 67 and 69 respectively.
