Canadian Corey Conners made one of the biggest surges up the leaderboard on Saturday as he made eight birdies and two bogeys in a brilliant six-under-par 66 to take sole possession of second on -14.

American Charley Hoffman also rocketed up the standings from 20th to third after signing for a magnificent eight-under-par 64 in a round that included seven birdies, one eagle and a bogey. US star Scott Brown, Venezuelan Jhonattan Vegas and South Korean Kyoung-Hoon Lee are a further two strokes back on -11, four off the leader, after carding rounds of 67, 67 and 69 respectively.
