Klopp Wants Liverpool Players To Maintain Momentum In Leeds United Clash

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has told his players to focus on their next Premier League game against Leeds United on Wednesday, as they could reduce Manchester City’s lead atop the table to three points.

Liverpool will face Chelsea in the final of the Carabao Cup next Sunday, in what could be the Reds’ first trophy of the year if they defeat the Blues.

Klopp insists the Liverpool squad must maintain their Premier League title challenge and stay hot on Manchester City’s heels.

Liverpool defeated Norwich 3-1 with a highly spirited display with Salah, Mane and Luis Diaz on the scoresheet.

Manchester City slipped to a 3-2 loss against a Harry Kane inspired Tottenham to put the Premier League race back in top gear.

Liverpool will play their outstanding game against Leeds in midweek and could reduce Manchester City’s lead to three points .

“We never had it before, that we are in all four competitions. That’s absolutely incredible and we really enjoy that,” Klopp said, as reported by SkySports.com

“Long may it continue because that means we play a lot of football games. That’s what we love most.

“But it’s not easy and thats exactly why we changed seven times (against Norwich).

“I expect from the boys that they listen when I tell them that the next game we play is absolutely the most important game we’ve ever played.”

In the Norwich game, substitutions were key to Liverpool’s performance after the goal by Milot Rashica gave Norwich the lead, with the introduction of Origi and Alcantara turning the game on it’s head.

“That’s a big bonus for us .We need everybody over the next few months to use the bench and to make an impact is really important,” Jordan
Henderson told to Liverpoolfc.com.

“We put them under some pressure and managed to break the deadlock with the goal and got back into the game and then the momentum changes”

“Leeds is a tough game, it’ll be a really intense game and you know how well they play,so we need to be ready for it,use the whole squad again- i’m sure we’ll have fresh legs again for Wednesday.”
