La Liga Round 20 Preview: Alaves Look To Climb Table At Expense Of Getafe

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid hope to cut gap away to Huesca while champions Barcelona host Leganes

The 20th round of action in Spain’s La Liga kicks off this weekend with Alaves looking to climb above Real Madrid and Sevilla in an attempt to rejoin the title chase. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid head to bottom club Huesca knowing only a win will do for their own title chances, while defending champions and current league leaders Barcelona host struggling Leganes.

First things first

Before you go any further, head on over to the Oddsshark website, find your favourite betting site and get your own account up and running using your credit card. As a new customer and with the La Liga campaign already past the halfway point, there should be a wide range of promotions and special offers available to you.

Where should I be investing my money?

First up, the clash between Getafe and Alaves on the Friday night (18 January). Getafe sit sixth in the table and are unbeaten in their last three matches across all competitions – their excellent defensive record means they do not need to be prolific in front of goal to take all three points.

Alaves, meanwhile, also look to be back on the right track following a minor blip over recent weeks. They are fifth in the standings but a win here could move them up to third – temporarily, at least, with their rivals not playing until later on in the weekend.

But is iss Getafe who come into this match as the clear favourites to pick up the win. You can back the home side to take all three points at just 1.90, while Alaves are out at 4.75 to do the same – a draw is priced in the middle at 3.20, according to Oddsshark.

And we are expecting home advantage to count for a lot in this one. A comfortable, 2-0 win for Getafe is priced at 7.50, meaning that a US$5 bet would lead to a US$37.50 pay out, while you could more than double your money by backing a combo bet of a Getafe win, coupled with a “No” to both teams scoring, at 2.62.

Atletico need all three points on the road

The following day, Atletico Madrid head to bottom club Huesca knowing anything less than three points simply will not do. Huesca have won just twice all season loosing 12 matches and are scoring at a rate of less than a goal a game – they are priced at just 1.062 to be relegated to the second tier.

Atletico, in stark contrast, still have their eyes set on the title, although they are currently five points behind Barcelona. Atletico have lost just once all season and are priced at 10.00 to get their hands on the league crown for the first time in half a decade.

Regarding this match, it is Atletico who come in as the red hot favourites to wrap up the points. You can back the visitors to win at just 1.66 while Huesca, despite home advantage, are out at 5.75 to do the same – a draw is priced in the middle at 3.60.

Atletico should be winning this match with few problems along the way. A 2-0 win for the away side comes in at 7.00, meaning that a US$5 bet would lead to a US$35 pay out, while you can more than double your money by backing a combo bet of an Atletico win, coupled with a “No” to both teams scoring, at 2.50.

Barcelona host Leganes looking to extend advantage

And finally, table toppers Barcelona host struggling Leganes looking to collect another three points. Barça, already five points clear at the top of the table, are at just 1.12 to retain their domestic crown this season.

Leganes, meanwhile, have won their last two games across all competitions, including beating Real Madrid in the cup. Coming up against the might of Barcelona in a league encounter may well provide a different outcome, however.

And it is indeed Barcelona who come into this match as the overwhelming favourites to pick up the points. You can back the champions to win at just 1.12, while Leganes are all the way out at 21.00 to record what would be a shock victory – a draw is priced in the middle at 9.00.

We are expecting Barcelona to produce a rout. A 4-0 win for home side comes in at 8.50, with Luis Suarez priced at 3.20 to score either the first or the last goal of the match.
