Speaking to Completesports.com, captain of Lagos Rhynos Saliu Abdulmalik said his team overcame their opponent due to experience on their side.

“The edge we had over our opponent was as a result of experience because it’s not easy to come from behind to win games so I think that really motivated us.

“Our opponent are good but we are smarter than them as you can see we play as a team which really gave us the edge.”

Abdulmalik added that they are hoping sponsors will come and support the league.

“We are hoping for the best in terms of sponsorship for the league. Most of the guys here are more like volunteers in the game. So we need sponsors in order for the game to develop more than the way it is now in the country.”

And speaking with captain of Broncos, Kalu Shedrack:”My team played well but we have more of new players that don’t understand the game. It’s sad that we lost but hopefully in our next match we will do better.”

The next round of matches of the Nigeria Rugby League will hold next weekend.
