Ukraine international Yevhen Shakhov has joined Lecce on a free transfer, the newly-promoted Serie A outfit have confirmed. The 28-year-old central midfielder was a free agent this summer after departing Greek outfit PAOK Salonika at the end of his contract.

Shakhov, who started his career in his homeland with Dnipro, scored five goals and chipped in with two assists in 21 Greek Super League outings as PAOK won the title and the Greek Cup last season.
His inability to agree new terms has left him up for grabs in this transfer window and Lecce have swooped for his services they look to bolster their squad for a return to Italy’s top-flight. The Giallorossi have revealed that Shakhov has signed a two-year contract at the Stadio Via del Mare, with the option of a third year.
