Leicester Coach, Davies: Why Iheanacho Missed Last Two Games

Leicester City assistant coach Chris Davies has revealed the reason behind Kelechi Iheanacho’s failure to make the bench in the club’s last two matches, reports Completesports.com.

Iheanacho who is largely regarded as Jamie Vardy’s back-up is yet to make an appearance for the Foxes this season.

He has also missed out on the matchday squad in each of the Leicester City’s last two outings after making the bench in the first two league games.

“[There is no] No reason. We try and balance the bench the best we can. Kel has been working well in training, there are no issues at all,” Davies told Leicestermercury.co.uk when asked about Iheanacho’s failure to make the matchday squad in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup win against Newcastle United.

“It’s just a case of recently, we have had Demarai Gray on the bench instead of Kel.

“He [Gray] is a multi-functional attacking player who can play out wide and up front.

“We also have Ayoze [Perez] who can play up front, so we just felt the balance that we have, it was better to stick with what we did on the weekend.”

Kelechi leave this team you’re clearly not wanted stop waiting for miracle or someone to injure it will be senseless.

Kel better shine his eyes, he is not getting any younger.
A loan move in January will revive his career.
The likes of Osihmen, Onyekuru gave there career a lift by going on loan.

Why are you so adamant to stay at this club. I think you dont trust yourself pleaz go on loan at least. Is better to play at norwich on loan and play régulary than warming the bench at leicester. You dont hav advicer or what. You dont see your teamates Osimhen samu henry kalu moses and co how their progressing and shine all the week

Some of us have to understand that it is not entirely up to the player to make a loan deal happen.  Especially for a player like Kelechi who had no leverage whatsoever.  It is clear that the staff considers him surplus to requirement but they probably have held on to him in the event of injury to one of the forwards.

The other side of the coin is if any team has even inquired about acquiring his services.  The point being we should probably cool down on the comments directed at kelechi as it may be out of his hands

Baba British passport his what I know is holding him back. And that is what I call inferiority complex…. my guy has his money already so he should quit the village thinking and move when he ought to. I sorry for his fellow advisors and his agent neymarlike father!

  • Kelechi is a perfect player for serie A where u have more time to deside on the ball. I have always known that iheanacho will be sideline by english teams. He is not strong enough on the ball to be a sucessfull attacker. If he had a personal trainer wish is affordable. He should learn to be mahrex. Mahrez game style will fit heanacho. He should be dedicated to good crosses and killer passes to the strickers. The preasure of goal scoring is his problem
