Leigh Centurions have completed a deal to sign winger Liam Forsyth from Wigan Warriors on a full-time basis. The 23-year-old made his Super League debut for his hometown club back in March 2017 and had initially looked like a bright prospect for the future.

He scored three tries in 14 appearances for Wigan but was ultimately pushed down the pecking order by Tom Davies and Joe Burgess. Forsyth has spent time on dual registration with Swinton Lions in each of the last three seasons but will now depart the DW Stadium on a permanent basis. Leigh head coach John Duffy is in no doubt about the quality of his signing. “Liam’s a really good signing for our Club.
We’ve been short on the right-hand side since Jonny Pownall injured his knee and Matty Costello has been playing in Saints’ first grade side,” he told the official Leigh website. “Liam covers centre and wing and he’s a good player, sharp and quick. He’s been playing really well this season and he’s a good lad with a good attitude. “He will really fit in with our group of players.”
