Robert Lewandowski believes Philippe Coutinho will be an instant hit at Bayern Munich. Brazil international Coutinho looks set to join Bayern on a season-long loan deal from Barcelona, while the Bavarians will also have an option to buy the 27-year-old at the end of the season.
Bayern were keen to add attacking options to their squad following the departures of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben at the end of last season, as well as the conclusion of James Rodriguez’s loan deal from Real Madrid.
The Bundesliga champions have already snapped up Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan and it now appears Coutinho will also be moving to the Allianz Arena over the coming days.
Bayern could do with a boost after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Hertha Berlin in their opening match of the new Bundesliga season on Friday and Lewandowski, who netted twice during that contest, believes Coutinho will prove an instant hit in Germany.
“I don’t think he’ll need that much time to adapt to our system and ideas,” Lewandowski told reporters. “I think he’s the sort of player that can settle in without many problems.”
